Blackstone-CoreWeave Quintus-X Campus Breaks Ground

The Quintus-X AI Campus in West Columbia, Texas — a joint venture between Blackstone and CoreWeave — has broken ground on construction. The 350MW facility will host NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 clusters leased to AI labs for frontier model training.

The campus is funded in part by CoreWeave's $7.5B debt facility, the largest GPU-backed debt financing in history. On-site gas turbines will provide initial power while grid interconnection is completed.

CoreWeave's rapid expansion makes it the leading neocloud GPU provider, competing directly with hyperscaler AI cloud services while offering more flexible access for AI labs and startups.

AMD MI350 Enters Volume Production

AMD's Instinct MI350 GPU has entered volume production at TSMC's 3nm process node. With 288GB of HBM3E memory and 10,000 FP8 TFLOPS, the MI350 is AMD's direct competitor to NVIDIA's B200.

Early deployments are underway at Meta and Microsoft, with broader availability expected in Q3 2026. AMD is positioning the MI350 as a high-memory alternative to Blackwell, particularly attractive for large-model inference workloads.

The MI350 is part of AMD's broader CDNA 4 roadmap, with the next-generation MI400 (CDNA 5) announced as a Rubin competitor expected in 2027.

Brazil AI Bill Advances in Senate Committee

Brazil's AI Bill (PL 2338/2023) has been approved by the Senate committee with amendments, moving closer to a full Senate vote. The bill is modeled on the EU AI Act with risk-based tiers, rights for affected individuals, and establishment of a National AI Authority.

If passed, Brazil would become the first South American country with comprehensive AI regulation. Proposed penalties include fines up to BRL 50M (approximately $10M) or 2% of Brazilian revenue for serious violations.

A full Senate vote is expected in mid-2026, with the bill then moving to the Chamber of Deputies.

Crusoe Energy Announces $3.4B Funding for Stranded-Energy AI

Crusoe Energy Systems announced a $3.4B funding round for stranded-energy-powered AI datacenter expansion. The round, led by Founders Fund and climate-focused investors, will fund new campuses in North Dakota, Texas, and other stranded natural gas regions.

Crusoe's innovative approach uses flared and stranded natural gas to power GPU clusters on-site, reducing methane emissions while providing low-cost AI compute. The company operates the first commercial stranded-energy AI campus in Monahans, Texas.
